The two things I enjoy most about watching a film are the acting and direction. Fortunately for me, 21 Grams features one of the best ensemble performances I've ever seen and the direction is nearly perfect. The tone of the film is a very serious one; I don't recall there being a light-hearted moment throughout the movie, and you don't find that very often unless you are watching Schindler's List or something. The story is told completely out of order (which takes a little getting used to) and follows the lives of three different people/families until one day, a tragic car crash brings them all together, for better or worse. Don't confuse this with the overrated film Crash, because they do have similar story lines, but 21 Grams is better than Crash in almost every way possible. Sean Pennn and Benicio Del Toro are fantastic as usual, but it's Naomi Watts is the real stand out in this movie. It's an unforgettable performance. However, all three actors work together amazingly and take the movie to heights that it may never have reached without any of the three of them. Emotionally speaking, 21 Grams hits on all cylinders and may be one of the most depressing movies I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. With superb direction and performances, 21 Grams is a gritty, hard hitting movie that shouldn't be missed. 85%

I see a lot of movies, but I only write reviews of them when they totally get my full attention regardless if it's in a good or bad way.

21 grams got me in a good way, this is a very powerful and realistic take on life & death and all the issues that come within.

It's 3 leads give very strong performances that are credible during the entire movie. There is some very crude material in it that can be sometimes hard to watch but that is what characterizes the director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's vision.

Overall 21 grams is a very strong movie and a must-see of the past decade.

Well written screenplay, but it seemed "over-shuffled". Similar to the way Tarantino likes to shuffle his scenes & breaks it into chapters, instead Alenjandro took bits of the scenes & shuffled them too randomly. He failed on that subject. However, it was a great film, great cast, & nicely written.

An incredible journey. 21 Grams may be very hard to get through, and even more difficult to follow, but it is a masterpiece.

To make the plot as simple as could be, 21 Grams is about three characters and their growing relationships with each other after a tragic accident. The three leads are outstanding. You cannot ask for a better cast than this. Sean Penn plays an overly kind, dying professor. Naomi Watts plays a tormented wife afflicted with such pain that turning to drugs doesn't seem like the worst idea. Benicio del Toro plays his own worst enemy. Each character has their own inner trauma that just can't be put into words.

The onscreen tension between Penn and Watts is extraordinary. I don't think I've ever seen a more emotional relationship, or two better actors play them. Del Toro lights up the screen with just himself and his Christian tattoos that seem to just stare him in the face.

The direction is great. Near perfect camera movement. The script, even though it plays out like a shuffled deck of cards, is one of the best I've ever seen. The dialogue alone is phenomenal, and the words that come out of these actors' mouths in the way that they speak it is just unreal.

21 Grams is the ultimate intermingled story. It's depressing, yet very real. It is a must see.

I wouldn't say it bored me, but I found this movie a bit hard to stomach- it was so depressing! Great performances from all the cast, but I don't think I could watch it ever again.

An absolute masterpiece. I think that this is the best in the directors 3 part triligy. a very powerful movie an ddeserved more credit that it did. Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, and Naomi Watts really show off their acting skills in this one.

Wow! This movie is terrific. The performances are superb especially from Naomi Watts. This film is not for everyone. The uncronological structure and depressing tone can be off putting for some. If you don't mind a story that's a bit of a downer this is deffinetly recomended.

I just don't know how to start. The movie is like a puzzle but so great edited that is not hard to follow. Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn, and Naomi Watts each gave an Academy Award performance.
