I think the title of the movie should be August Rush. It makes you wanna stop and think where you stood before 9/11. A very interesting time & part of history. Personaly I think the internet boom and whole 1990's era is one to be one compared with the roaring 1920's. When time stood still.

RT critics got this one wrong. August Chick is a strong artist and this movie was an 8 out or 10 or more. Good work A. Chick; looking forward to future works.

Whatever tech nerd wrote this should be banished from Hollywood, then shot.

Enough with Josh Hartnett and his shirt off.

Dialogue is just garbage, and really funny at times.

a cool ass little movie that lets us back IN days before 9/11 and never fucking even hints at the crisis that is about to unfurl...... and the crisis we are still in (GeorgeW.) as a case of it's aftermath. it's kind of eerie the way this movie lightly touches on these points and then lets the audience THiNK for itself. i'd kept putting off watching this movie after hearing a blurb about it on G4's Attack of the Show thinking it might be boring i finally watched it yesterday wich happened to be september 11th 2008. A day that i also began to realize that peeps are actually starting to forget and are no longer making a big deal out of it the way they did in the past. I however wore my colors (ol'stars&bars)upon my chest like i do every year, ready to share my tale of:
where i was
and:
what i was doing
when iT happened
-like i do every year- and (for the first year since) never did because no one around me brought it up once. except for the chain-letter-text i recived from my co-worker a day before telling me to "NeverForget" and to forward the text to all those "i cared about" .

Could not even finish the movie it was sooooo dull. Rented it due to Hartnett but the story was so dull I could not even get half way through it for him.

:fresh: :fresh: :fresh: (out of four)

August doesn't hit all its marks, but a lively performance from Hartnett and some snappy dialogue make for an intruguing and interesting story.

The plot centers around a young fast-talking young man who rides the dot.com wave to a multi-million dollar company. A few months later things crash.

The film is topical and has a great subplot centering on Hartnett and his brother. The dialogue feels real, lending to the films authenticity.

A rather interesting, but dry film. Hartnet, to me, is good in almost anything. I am one of the few people who believe this though.

Thought this movie was really slow and boring. Nothing ever really happens. Josh, I suppose, does a good job, but this movie did not keep my attention. I was suprised that 70% of the community liked this movie. What in the hell did they see in it? Maybe it's a bunch of girls that love Hartnet (sp) no matter how poor the movie is.

(***):

I'm in the minority on this one; I really liked it. Hartnett gives a great performance and I actually really liked the story.
