It would be hard not to laugh at this movie. Tom Hanks is terrific and his comic style and timing has rarely been better. Mindless fun, but highly entertaining.

Finally saw Bachelor Party after watching Confessions of a Teen Idol with Adrian Zmed. A great 80's comedy. Tom Hanks funniest movie ever. I laughed and laughed some more. It was funny to see an actor like Tom Hanks in a corn ball movie. Sure enough the jokes were predictable but still hit a comedy bulls eye. Hotel party was my hands down favorite part. Bachelor Party will never get stale.

Tom Hanks' career began in comedy, and this film is a shining example of his comedic talents. Hanks delivers a satisfying and enjoyable performance as groom-to-be Rick Gassko, and his supporting cast couldn't have been better selected. Many of the film's co-stars had worked with Hanks in the past, most notably on TV's Bosom Buddies. The chemistry is apparent here, as the actors are all comfortable in their roles, as the dialogue is executed with a smooth, yet expedient wit. The jokes all work in this film - outlandish as some of them may be. There is never a dull moment in Bachelor Party, as each scene is well-constructed to deliver an inevitable laugh, without the premeditated one-liners that seem so forced in today's trash comedies. The events of the film were based on Producer Bob Israel's real life bachelor party experience, and the realism of the story can be felt in the film, as the viewer rarely has to suspend disbelief. This movie can best be appreciated by the movie fan who enjoys witty, smirk-inducing comedies.

Overall, the movie wasn't amazing. But, it was entertaining watching Tom Hanks in his very early work. He was the bright spot of this film, and he was very good, without him, this movie would have easily gone from fresh to rotten. It was your steriotypical 80's sex/party movie, a genre that I enjoy. I gave it a 6/10, and Tom Hanks's performance commanded 4.5 of those stars.

"There are moments of hilarious vulgarity earning this wild party a very cautious recommendation, provided that some might find it extremely offensive."

Rick Gassko is about to walk down the isle with the girl of his dreams; however, his friends suffer separation anxiety upon the news of Rick's wedding. In order to overcome the horrendous news of Rick's departure from the single ranks, his friends decide to throw him a wild bachelor party. Despite the women's attempts to ruin their plans, Rick's buddies will stop at nothing to provide him with a good time.

"I'm afraid that my grandchildren are going to be little assholes."

Neal Isreal, director of Moving Violations, Surf Ninjas, and Thanksgiving Family Reunion, delivers Bachelor Party. Bachelor Party may be one of the few films that is comparable to Animal House in terms of content. The comedic styles are similar; however, the "Bluto" in this film is no John Belushi, while Tom Hanks may be better than Tim Matheson (Otter).

"Is that the foot long?"
"...and then some."

Bachelor Party is a film that my wife has always adored. She recorded this for me and we watched it yesterday. I have seen portions of this film in the past, but I had never seen it in its entirety. This is a very good and underrated pictured compared to the likes of Animal House. Nevertheless, I would consider this a must see for the comic genre and worth having in your DVD collection.

"It seems like only yesterday I showed you how to give a blowjob."

I found Tom Hanks to be absolutely hilarious with great one liners.
