This movie does what it is supposed to do: mildly entertain. All the players know their places. Prince is the complicated shy guy who will get the girl. Forlani is the hot girl (she kinda is too) who is also complicated and will get the guy. Biggs is the messed up but outgoing roommate who fills in the gap. Better then his Loser role but worse than American Pie. Drama happens, misunderstandings, and then a happy ending.

Cast: Freddie Prinze Jr. (Ryan Walker), Claire Forlani (Jennifer Burrows), Jason Biggs (Hunter/Steve), Amanda Detmer (Amy), Alyson Hannigan (Betty), Monica Arnold (Katie), Heather Donahue (Megan)

Another teen flick about boy meets girl, they become friends and then in the end realise that they have been friends with their perfect partner from the beginning. We follow Ryan and Jennifer through their journey through University. It's really a poor man's "teen" When Harry Met Sally. A nice piece of fluff.

Last night I was flipping through the channels and happened upon an old rerun of 'Remington Steele' on AXN... it was an episode where they go to San Francisco (circa 1985). Even 1985 SF was enough to make me somewhat nostalgic for the Bay, especially cause the soundtrack for this episode was full of Tony Bennett tunes weaved in between the scenes (rather cutting edge actually for 1985!)

Perhaps that was weighing on my mind subconciously then, when I picked 'Boys and Girls' from my stack of DVDs to watch tonight.

But thats still the later half of my Berkeley experience, I should find "Junior" or "Made in America" (both of which I saw being filmed on campus too) for some real old school nostalgia. ;-)

Clue:

My God Freddie sucks. :( Although the dance scene was cool. But also very very very lame.

Its been a while since I last updated this journal. Nothing really new to add, its basically just the same old stuff just a new day. Spend a few days in New York. It was good to get away for a while and forget about things and focus on some fun times. It was good to see friends and just relax. Its always a good thing that people havent forgotten bout the D-Train. LOL

Saw a few movies while in NY. Went to see Ladykillers, thought it was an ok. Could have been a lot better, but it had its laughs. The characters all had their moments of being funny. But my favorite character was The General, because it was a man of few words and everyone respected him. LOL.

Also saw Kill Bill Volume 1. It was an awesome movie. Would give it a 9 out of 10. It would have been a 10 out of 10, but the large fight scene was just a little too much. Could have been half the time and still been awesome. One of the best lines of the movie was : Your Buck and you like to fuck. Pure genius. LOL. The fight scene's were really good and vicious. Gotta love good and vicious scenes. Now I am pumped to see Volume 2.

I must say that I am a fan of some cheesey love stories. My favorite cheesey love story is Boys and Girls. starring that bum Freddie Prinze Jr. and the hottie Clarie Forlani. You may remember her from that classic movie Mallrats. The story is something that we all can relate to no matter what you say. There is always that one friend that we have that we want to have something more with. And on that right occasion it works out that instead of being friends you were meant to be lovers. Then there are other occasions when it is just better to be friends then lovers. I guess what I really like about it was that it was a story that happens all of the time and is down to earth.

On a different note, I spend most of yesterday afternoon watching golf. What can I say, I am a sports junkie. It was a great day of golf and it played out like we all wanted it to. To come down to the 72 hole with a chance to win it. The day was more than who was better than who, it was more of a man fighting within himself to win that elusive first major title. After the 72 hole one man stood there with the green jacket and the Master's Throphy and that man was Phil Mickelson who was labeled as the best man to never win a major. Well that statement can be stopped. His win proves that everyone will have their day in the sun. There will be many ups and downs and you will almost reach the top, but there will be times that we wont be able to reach the top, but we must not give up because the top will be reached one day. It may take one day or it may take 50 years, but we all will have our time in the sun.

As summer approaches I know that its going to be a long and busy one. Between working 60 plus hours a week and attempting to go to school, I am possibly going to take a job working as an assistant F&B manager at a golf club that my brother works at. Boy doesnt this sound all to familiar. Well I am trying to make all the money that I can so that I can start saving so I can move out of my house into an apartment. I miss having the independence that I had at school and its my time to leave home for good. I miss having peace and quiet at times and I just miss being able to have people over to a place that I can call my own. So I am hoping that by October I will be able to do this and if not then I'll figure something out.

As I close this entry, I just had a random thought. Why do people come to me with their relationship problems. LOL. I havent had a healthy relationship in god knows how long. I mean I am all about helping, but there are times in which I just feel like saying shut up and enjoy what you have because there are others out there who wish we that someone.
