I was a bit confused when I watched this movie. I assumed from the advertisements that this would be a Never Ending Story type adventure, only to discover that a lot of what was in the commericals only made up about 10 minutes of the entire movie. So, that was very disapointing.

However, as the movie progressed, it's entertainment value sank in, and I began to understand it's concept. This place was real if you had a childlike imagination, and, it was a very sad occasion when the good story took a twist for the worst toward the end. So, it kind of takes you there on several emotional levels.

It took me back to my childhood, when I had a treefort, and special friends to share it with. We never imagined we were in a strange world, but, the more I watched the more I thought it would have been fun to try.

This was a decent movie. And the kids in this movie were very good in their roles. But, not keeping with the advertised theme, kind of left me feeling somewhat let down.

This movie is aimed at kids but during production the arrow shot much higher than the people thought that the story was capable of. The CGI is amazing in this movie I would watch it for that purpose alone, the story is based of the children's book that won the newbery medal (Pulitzer Prize for kids books) and you can see why. In the movie two children create their own world to escape ours, my opinion, Build the Bridge to Teribethia. (by build i mean watch)

A terrible film adaptation to an equally terrible book. I was forced as a child to read this story, I hated it then. Read it again as an adult and once again hated it. It's a poorly-written story which never should have been made into a film.

Bridge to Terabithia doesn't have the strong story or cast of the far-superior Spiderwick Chronicles, but it does feature some cool special effects (when the Terabithians make an appearance in the final scene, it's a sight to behold; the birdcage woman, in particular, is well-designed) and touching moments. In fact, it's one of the most deeply depressing movies I've ever seen. Loss is a common theme in film, but when it's applied to childhood friendship, it's a different kind of sadness.

The cast features two bright spots: AnnaSophia Robb is good in her leading role. She seems likely to have a solid career ahead of her. And Zooey Deschanel is lovely as the music teacher. This does, however, represent another of her movies that I don't care for. It's a sad irony, since I'm madly in love with her.

Another odd feature is the heavy religious angle, which comes out of nowhere and adds uncomfortable baggage for the remainder of the film. It isn't handled with enough care or delicacy to make it fit into a children's tale, and the resulting conclusion of the thread will make Christians squirm.

Too bland and badly-acted to make much of an impression, Bridge to Terabithia stands as a failure in the world of children's entertainment, much in line with Walden Media's Chronicles of Narnia adaptations.

I am one of the disgusting people who hated the film.

If I had watched the thing without looking at the poster or the trailers, I would have enjoyed it as the romantic and endearing thing that it is.

But I watched the trailer, and the stared at the Fantasy-looking posters.

For the entire duration of the film I wrongly imagined that at any moment the children would be stepping through some magical portal and then they would enter a fairyland, and it would be something like Neverending Story with all the strange creatures either in CG or puppet form.

False advertising ruined the experience for me... I think I should have read the reviews or the vague description of the film before just buying my ticket and walking in.

The flaw was that school life was seen as something horrible with the bully, and it hinted that they would be going to (this is an outsider's view who knows nothing of the book) Terabithia to escape.

But no, in a random turn, boy decides to go with teacher of whom he is crushing over, and girl dies in accident. Story ends with the funeral.

Of course this film is good, but this is a personal crtique and rating! It's what this website is for. 10% for me. (People who do false advertising should be gunned down ruining people's experiences with disappointment.)

While a childs spirit is a great thing, there doesn't seem to be much excitment to Terabithia. Despite that though, there's some great acting to be had here and a great story with some above average effects are what makes this film decent.

sweet and touching, it is not only about the imagination of kids... it is also about their friendship, their trust to each other, this is something irreplaceable...

Arguably the worst adaptation of a childrens novel. The book captivates you in a world called Terabithia where creatures walk and two children live in peace trying to escape their less then perfect lives. The only reason why this movie's rating is ten and not zero is the acting from the young girl who plays jess or less or somthing and the boy's parents and freinds however the boy itself is one of the most annoing charecters I have ever seen in a movie. But the touching finale minutes of this film almost makes me want to change the channel if I see that it is on, the only thing stopping me is the fact that I probely do need a Sham-Wow and the colorful lights of the commercial keep me interested.
