I think this movie transcends time. It's still as relevant today as it was then. Being in school myself, one can appreciate the level of independence Keating teaches his students. There truly are many ways to do the same thing. The group of guys were diverse and I found myself taking an interest in their endeavors and development. One of my favorite dramas.

"Words and ideas can change the world." Dead Poets Society is one of Robin Williams' forgotten movies. To me it is possibly his best role in any movie he's done. There are three major themes in this movie that every teacher, father, and student should realize and see this movie at least once.

A teacher can watch this movie and learn a lot about getting through to their students and how to make them think. A father can hopefully understand that you shouldn't pressure your kids to be something they don't want to be. And anybody can watch this and realize that they should persue things that they love to do.

This film challenges you go beyond the normal...and to learn about the world you live in. "The Dead Poets were devoted to sucking the marrow out of life." The final scene is my all time favorite scene in movies. A magical film.

this movie really challenges you to think, and thats why i liked it so much. robin williams is great and it has one of the most memorable sayings in movie history with its "carpe diem". its an influential story but it lacks a bit of depth.

Very good overall, it just lacks depth, the actions pass too quickly!

A Modern Classic film about Classic Literatures and how they represent Life, Tragedy and Comedy. There's a saying (not quoted in the movie), "By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest." One of Robin William's best performances as the teacher. Carpe Diem! Seize the day!

Sort of iffy in some places. Never the less, it's an influential and inspiring movie that every teenager should see.

Stutters a bit towards the end, but I'll never complain. A much better film for teens than others like the Breakfast Club. Magic!
