A very different film, even according to Burton's standards. I like the black and white, and feel it fits the tone and characters cast. I enjoyed this movie from the first frame forward.

Serves to sadden today when looking back at what Tim Burton and Johnny Depp used to do with film. A fantastic film and a great venture for anyone who is a fan of the period. Featuring a memorable performance by Johnny Depp as the lovably crazy Ed Wood, and a perfect performance by Martin Landau as the legend Bela Lugosi.

Definitely my favorite of Tim Burton's films, Ed Wood might be his ultimate masterpiece, as it blends his amazing visual style with a story of amazing heart and genuineness. Ed Wood (the character, not the film) is a beautiful failure, like a guy tripping on his shoelaces with every single step, but smiling the whole time. His passion for film is inspiring (despite his lack of conventional talent), and the screenplay contrasts him wonderfully against Bela Lugosi, the weary has-been who yearns to return to his glory days. The friendship between the two men is so rich and so poignant, Ed earnestly pursuing his career in its infancy, never bowing to any opposition, and Bela reluctantly facing the deterioration of his career and body. I doubt that this story could be told better, with Burton's unique visuals and offbeat sense of humor, Depp and Landau's fantastic performances, and such a remarkable screenplay. Maybe Ed didn't make much worth watching during his career as the Orsen Welles of bad movies, but he should be grateful to Burton -- his take on the failed artist might be a step toward atonement.

Wow... This is truly the best film of Johnny Depp I've ever seen. This is the movie that both Johnny Depp and Tim Burton said was their favorite. I simply love it. The character Ed Wood is just amazingly acted by Johnny Depp, the jokes are subtle and very good, and the story was amazing, everything about this movie is just amazing. I don't know what else to say about it. Yes, 10/10 and everybody should watch it! Why is this movie so unknown to most people? Watch it and spread the word, I guarantee that you will love it just as I did!

Tim Burton Channels the Essence of who and what Ed Wood was all about from beyond the grave.

The film takes you on the trials and tribulations Wood's Career travelled through, a man with so many quirks and vulnerbility literally left his heart on his sleeve when directing his unusual style pictures. This is truly something worth watching, it's breath takingly beautiful, heart warming and unlike anything i've ever encountered.

Man, I just watched Ed Wood recently, and it blew me out of the water. It was just a great film all around. Everything about it is just great, the acting is good, the casting is good, the direction is good, and the story is good. Ed Wood made me laugh so many times, especially that fake octopus part. Martin Landau plays Bela Lugosi, and right before Ed Wood is getting ready to film film, Landau yells out, "Lets film this f*cker!" lol. I laughed for such a long time. This is definitely an underrated film and definitely one of Tim Burton's best.
