The creatures look cool. I laughed heartily once, I believe. This is a movie with little respect for the viewer. How a big name director and actors could have colluded to do this hackneyed, badly written yarn is beyond me.

Not a great comedy but it delivers where it needs to. Duchovny is just perfect as former Army Officer turn Comm. College Prof. I think the writing and casting really pulled the mediocre plot. Well done.

Oh what could have been is what immediately comes to mind when I think of this movie. Reitman tries to capture lightning in a bottle twice with this sci-fi fun flick, but the success he enjoyed with Ghostbusters just can't be touched. I found Orlando Jones tolerable as well as Sean William Scott. I felt that if Bill Murray had played Duchovny's role then the movie may have been saved, but it wasn't to be. Their were too many stupid jokes that really took away from the film. Shame oh well I will remember Reitman for his Ghostbuster's magic and forget this one.

Evolution is a fun movie. It may not be the most well made movie, but it certainly pulls solid laughs at a number of points throughout, and yes; some are cheap laughs. This is one of those movies that you put on to just sit back and enjoy; there's no thick plot to follow, no real emotional attachment to any of the characters, really; nothing beyond a simple mind numbingly entertaining waste of an hour and a half. Although; Sean William Scott does have some pretty hilarious moments, he makes the movie worth watching being a secondary character.

I would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good laugh (they even through in a few fart jokes for those who enjoy that) and a movie that you don't need to think about.

Probably my favorite Duchovny movie that isn't X-Files related, and by far my favorite Sci-Fi Comedy I've watched to date.

**1/2 (out of four)

A hit and miss comedy that offers some funny moments courtesey of the likes of Julianne Moore,David Duchovny, and Sean William Scott.

A meteor lands in the desert and a group of oddball locals figure out that it has highly advanced and quick evolving aliens. Soon the army comes in to investigate.

I loved this movie. The special effects kinda sucked, but I love all the actors/actresses, and I think they did perfectly. It's a movie I love to rewatch.

trying to replicate the success of ghostbusters with this special effects comedy, the story misses the mark and doesn't make the most of the plot. this could of been a really good film had some time been spent on some comedy and story. in the end this is only interesting for the characters who suit the movie well former fox mulder is superb. in the end definately not perfect but far from a dud, good for unintelligent fun
