I love Jodie Foster... she can read Yellow Pages and still be one of the best actresses around... And she was good in this thriller... the only complaint is that the film is loosing it's intensity of the story and the suspense is disappearing towards the middle... not a great cinema movie but DVD with popcorn seems like a good idea!

There are only two emotions in a plane: boredom and terror.

~Orson Welles

Ah, Yes. Flightplan. This is what thrillers are all about. It is fast-paced, taut, tense and most of all entertaining. It's premise brings out a fear in all mothers: The disappearance of their child. And it uses this fear to excellent effect.

It's about the disappearance of Kyle Pratt's six year old daughter on a two story plane. Yeah, two story. It's big, and high-tech. Could a little girl really get lost on this plane? It's big, but is it big enough to lose a child? Apparently so, since she is nowhere to be found. A shocking revelation shows that there is no record of Kyle's daughter ever being on the flight. WHAT?! Is Kyle crazy? Is her daughter an illusion? Or is there, in fact, a bigger conspiracy escalating? The outcome will surprise you.

Those who complain about the "far-fetched" plot do not understand the movie. It's a thriller. Since when is it necessary to have a definite story from a thriller? This type of movie can be unrealistic, illogical and over-the-top. We can accept this as long as it isn't too ridiculous. So the plot has the right to be just as implausible as the film. I personally think that the plot was twisty and definitely impressive.

The movie largely relies on the acting of the cast, and they definitely deliver. Jodie Foster is the anxious mother and Peter Sarsgaard is the air marshal Jean Carson. They are in top form, especially Foster, who is perfectly cast. Along with Sean Bean as the flight's captain.

I love the film's slick look. The plane set was excellent. It's silver and shady colors went perfectly with Foster's eyes, highlighting their deepness and light blue shade.

The film's best detail is that it plays with your mind. You wonder if Kyle is truly delusional, or if her daughter has been taken by malicious forces. It's hard to tell. In the beginning of the film we see her talk to her husband, yet we've clearly seen him in a coffin . Is her daughter Julia a similar illusion? She did seem to talk to her deceased husband. Is Julia the same? A dead illusion? These questions and many more keep you very involved in the plot, and the twists and turns are considerably interesting.

The film doesn't go without it's flaws. The plot holes are one too many, but you really don't notice them in the film until it's over. Like I said, an illogical plot is acceptable in a thriller, especially one of this caliber.

Definitely see Flightplan. It may not be to everyone's taste, but I think that by the time it comes to a conclusion, you will be glad that you watched it.

The movie was showing on FX so I decided to sit down and watch it. The plot was a little on the impossible side. I enjoyed Foster's performance and the overall tension that the movie generates. It has a generic passengers but it wasn't that bad it was midly enjoyable.

Only if there's nothing else on TV.

With a well managed mystery along with Jodie Foster commanding the screen, this airplane thriller works.

One of the few movies that I didn't enjoy in the least. Talking about it on here is more time that it has stolen from me. Avoid this travesty of boredom. The only reason it gets 10% is because the rating system requires it.
