People tend to over think this movie too much. For a movie to be based off of a childrens cartoon series I think it was done pretty damn well. There is not a ton of plot or story its just a typical action movie with catch phrases. But sometimes maybe that's all you need. Sometimes we just want to see action, kick ass men, and hot ass woman. The plot can just come second. All in all its a decent film and worth the watch. The over anal-yst below me obviously prefer something more of the lines of sex in the city 2.

One of the worst films I have seen in a long time, even the action is terrible. I normally try and find at least one thing that I enjoyed in a film, but it is tough with this one. Would recommend that anyone who is looking to view this film should reconsider what will be a wasted two hours.

This is not movie really nothing but just exaggerated action scene. The plot is just ridiculous.Over the top action and nothing just leaves you disappointed.

Some ridiculous moment I found are
1.Collapsing scene of Eiffel tower it is just dumb and ridiculous.
2.Baroness(Sienna) is married to French scientist for just to use him that he could activate nano weapons. But they forced him to activate the weapon by pointing gun on him.I don't understand what is the sense to get married to him.To just only activate weapon.
3.Big suspense Ana's(Sienna) dead brother revealed as The Doctor(Joseph Gordon Lewitt). Why he becomes The Doctor?

The screenplay is just puerile.Direction is weak.

It's predictable and the action is over the top. No one can act in this movie.

I can always remember the name Hasbro, though I never had a toy or action figure of one when I was a child. But moving foreword, it's unbelievable that Hasbro has gone to another step in the media. From a Toy manufacturing company to making TV programs, they have now gone to the big screen with these Saturday Morning Cartoon premises, which for me I find pretty ballsy. Hasbro sure is desperate to cash in on everything, convincing kids to buy their toys, products, and renew old classic toys starting with Transformers, than its sequel. Now comes another classic toy brand to a movie called "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra". However, my experience of viewing the film was rather different from what I remembered in my childhood. But in general, this was an okay film.

The main protagonist, named Duke, goes on a military mission to take hold of a specialized secret weapon from the evil headquarters called MARS. The weapon has microscopic green insects that eat through metal, which becomes a threat to Earth. During Duke's procedure, he, and his friend named Ripcord, played by Marlon Wayans stumble upon a battle from a secret organization called GI Joe, lead by General Hawk, played by Dennis Quaid. They hold specialized rifles, suits, and several features that a child would die for. Duke, and Ripcord join GI Joe to train with the special weaponry and face MARS. Like most action movies, GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra is a generic good guys versus bad guys setup. The good guys fight over this weapon to keep it safe from MARS. Like most clich

As if the world didn't have enough over-aggression and macho mediocrity, someone somewhere decided that making a film based around the epitome of the jock-hero action doll would not be offensive in its rubbishness. Needless to say, the cock-up of that someone can only be measured by biblical proportions.

When his squadron is attacked by a technologically-advanced group of nasty evil people intent on capturing a new nanite warhead, the chief Jock (I refuse to acknowlege him as a character and open Wikipedia for the sake of this film) and his wise-cracking buddy want in on the elite squadron, the 'Joes', which save them. Naturally they turn out to be 'funny' enough and amazing physically to graduate into the group just in time to fight off the attentions of whatever that nasty group fronted by a leather-clad Sienna Miller (none of whose tops, surprisingly, quite manage to zip up past her cleavage).

Plot-wise 'G.I Joe' is a truimph of unoriginality and banal boredom. The same aim was clearly in mind when considering which words the people should say (I refuse to acknowlegde it as a script), resulting in quite possibly a world-record of cringe and cliche per minute ratio. Perhaps more worrying is the inclusion of Christopher Eccleston, Sienna Miller and Johnathan Pryce into proceedings. They're awful, but more worringly they all agreed to appear without the excuse that they had never seen another script of superior quality. Throw in a set of predictable and lethargic back-stories and love-'interests' and 'G.I Joe' seems far more real and engaging in plastic than on any screen.

The action sequences do possess some entertainment quality, ludicrous and poor as they are. This film stole the record from 'the Blues Brothers' for the number of cars destroyed in a single film which is worthy of some praise and recognition of its faint over-the-top appeal. Faint being the equivalent of being prepared to volunteer for castration without anaesthetic.

'Team America' provided a warning against the future production of films latching onto an extension of American aggression and policy-praising. That certain someone clearly missed the irony and satire of 'Team America' and felt its face value mockery could be replicated into a film. Being turned slowly and painfully into a G.I. Joe action figure would genuinely be a more enjoyable experience than this film.

I was honestly expecting more. It seemed more nothing than action, and the plot was so lame, I think it stepped on a landmine before it went into production. Channing Tatum is NOT who I would envision Duke to be. Casting was second rate yet, you can see that all of the money that went toward this project went to the visual effects. Thank God is was only an hour and a half.
