Very moving story, nice and simple acting.

Enjoyed it a lot, doubtful if anyone could watch the film and not feel emotional.

This was a simple movie that was to the point but at the same time it was a pretty slow build up but what a wonderful true story about a wonderful precious dog that makes Marley & Me a run for their money. I was so touched at the end of this film that I was so teary eyed and that tells alot because I usually never cry during a movie, it definitely pulls at your heart strings towards the end and yes you'll cry more at this end than in Marley & Me or in Old Yeller. The acting was ok in this film but it really wasn't its strong suits but the real star of this film was that beautiful dog that played Hachi and if a dog was ever up for an oscar this one is at the top of the list, it was so beautiful that it distracted me from everyone else in the flick, I want one! Overall this has to be the best canine movie I've ever seen at least in years and I highly recommend it to everyone that has a love for man's best and loyal friend. See it!!! More of a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

you know what is going to happen next and it can get a little draggy, but it is still amazing how it manages to make you weep.

A bad idea to make a film from this weak, watery plot, but if this plot had to be made, this is the best it could get. It's a slow, thin, blurry film, in which there are simply two scenes, with the major plot turn seperating them. The film ends with a paragraph describing the real life story, which is all that was really needed. But a lot of the scenes are very pretty and the dog was beautiful.

Hachiko: A Dog's Story is a true story about an owner of a Japanese Akita dog famous in Japan for being loyal and faithful. Now, the story is shared all over the world.

A college professor (Richard Gere) takes in an abandoned dog, Hachi, and they form an unbreakable bond. After the professor dies while away from home, the dog keeps vigil waiting for his master hoping that one day, he will return.

Hachiko: A Dog's Story is one of the best movies I have seen so far in 2010. The plot and story is so moving and heart-warming and sends a positive, strong message about loyalty and friendship. There is no faults where the acting is concerned and Richard Gere gives out a terrific performance as Hachiko's master. Hachiko is directed superbly and the timing for the movie is marvellous, the movie didn't feel long or short and the ending was brilliant. The music added so much emotion to the scenes filmed even though the movie was emotional enough without it. The only fault I have with the movie is the characters. While the characters are loveable, you didn't know enough about them which made them a little underused. However, that could have been intentional to show the audience the loyalty and love between Hachiko and his master.

I would recommend this to everybody as this one will tug your heartstrings and make you cry. This is one movie no-one should miss, this isn't your normal dog story, this is one story you won't forget in a hurry.

9/10
A fantastic story about a man and his dog and shows us a message about loyalty, love and friendship. Gripping from start to finish. Everyone would want Hachiko!
