Running for a third time can get old, but the thrills make sure you don't get bored.

I enjoyed this a lot more than the second one. Even though it feels a little the same as the first one, it still kicks ass. I really liked the story in this one to and that big ass new dino was great to and the graphics are still phenomenal and so are the actors. Jurassic park 3 also had some heart racing moments to witch I like. This is a great series so well done I really liked this movie.

JURASSIC PARK III is something of a difficult film to review. It's a decent enough sequel to THE LOST WORLD, and it's great to see Sam Neil return as Dr. Allan Grant, which is really what makes the movie as entertaining as it is. With all of that said, however, it's not a particularly great film by any stretch of the imagination, and it's one that pales very much in comparison to its two predecessors.

The one bright spot of JURASSIC PARK III is Sam Neil, who is great as Dr. Grant. His character was very much a piece that was missing from THE LOST WORLD, and it's a shame that he couldn't have been a part of the better of the two sequels, but at least he returns here.

The basic premise of the film is one that is quite contrived. Hollywood has done countless films about people looking for missing persons, so that part of this film feels like something that we've seen over and over again, and often times much better than it's done here. There are moments littered throughout this film where you know exactly what is around the bend, and it takes away from the tension.

Aside from Neil, the cast is pretty much on autopilot. William H. Macy and Tea Leoni are solid, but quite unspectacular at the same time. Their performances here will most likely not be mentioned in any discussion as to the best performances of their respective careers.

There are a few good ideas in the film, namely the decision to place the film on an island that is basically destroyed, a far cry from the first film where John Hammond was looking to make his island the next big tourist attraction. The sense of desolation about the setting is very fitting, and the decision to take significantly fewer people there than they did in THE LOST WORLD also helps to add that that notion. But, for every good idea the writers had for the film, they had an equally bad one as well. As already mentioned, the decision to make this film essentially into the search for a missing person is very much a contrived idea. There had to have been better ideas for getting Dr. Grant back on the island, and it would have also been much better had they managed to get Laura Dern's Ellie back onto the island as well. Also, the ending of this film is one of the worst I've seen in a while. In an effort not to spoil it, I'll simply say that it's almost as though the writers had a set length under which they had to keep the film, and decided to simply end the film at that point rather than trying to bring the already paper-thin story to any kind of satisfying and reasonable conclusion. Also, even if one were to accept the abrupt nature of the film's climax, the content of the climax is also very much questionable as well.

Even with all of these complaints, JURASSIC PARK III is a reasonably entertaining film, and it does work rather well as a sequel to THE LOST WORLD. It would just be nice, however, to see a film series that actually managed to uphold the quality of its first two entries once it reached a third film, which is very much a rare accomplishment in Hollywood.

Enjoyed alot more than LOST WORLD . Not much story involved but well acted and great special effects . Enjoyable romp

Jurassic Park 3 is the least of the series in my opinion. While Sam Neil did come back for his role, which I liked, the other cast members just annoyed me and I wanted them all to die. This movie was just to predictable and to boring for me.

The problem with the 3rd film is the writers and director get so arrogant they think they can create anything and make money off it. That is the real situation. This film was passable.

The story is good, the effects are great, the fact the sam neil and laura dern both returnd is brilliant, but unfortunatly, it wasnt a patch on either of its precedors. It was more or less, one big chase scene around the second island, getting eaten by some new dinos (which were by the wat fantastic) and a different sort of finale.

JP1 had the high climax final scene with the T-rex killin the raptors etc, the second with the dinos actually in the city, and then the third, this 1, with just like, a few choppers and tanks and bobs your uncle.

However the plane crash and the missing boy were very original, which is what gives it the 70%.

After this one, I'm still waiting for Jurassic Park 4.

The film has cool dino effects,it does have the feel of less energy, but it sill feels like a great adventure.

Yeah it's a great fall from greatness. It's basically the same thing from the first two installments. See it for the action thats it.
