All I can say is Lynch is at it again. Lynch is growing on me because his non-linear story telling and maddening images really press my brain at times, which i enjoy. However, these are still movies and Lynch missed some essential ingredients needed in Lost Highway. This film's cast is simply not up to it. I really wasn't impressed by any of the performances and they made the script seem very corny and unnecessary. Granted, the actors have got a lot of balls for doing what they did, and i know that they have awesome careers, but they all seem like they thought they were doing a different movie. Along with the bad performances, we have a poorly paced movie. Surreal images bombard the screen, yet the movie is tepid and boring in many instances struggling to find a pace to go with. Sadly it never finds it. But all is not lost, Lynch has some great visuals and his usual WTF moments are in this movie for sure. You jaw always drops and you are not sure why, which is such a strange and inviting feeling for a movie goer such as myself. As always, after every Lynch film you should really read on on what the hell you just witnessed because odds are you won't get it. But that is Lynch's point, it is up to the human mind to decipher what he puts on screen, the problem here is i didn't want to. Lost Highway is Lynch with his usual insanity, but weak acting, poor pacing contribute to an experience that i just could not care for

This film is surreal and dream (nightmare?) like. Hard to describe the plot, but basically, as wiki says, it's based around a saxaphonist who is accused of murdering his beautiful and supposedly unfaithful wife. An amazing soundtrack for a great artsy movie.

While designing a road is a seed of original art scripted on the page of creation, inviting others for the ride will nurture this seed and seal this art for eternity.

Ones may expect a six-lane highway when the architect is a gifted designer like David Lynch, however, the detailed views of the hi-ways are left for the riders at a point where the hi-gh-ways could be lost.

Whether you love or hate David Lynch you have to admit that the man can really make a fucked up film. Lost Highway is the third Lynch film I've watched to date and so far my third favorite. I expected Lost Highway to be similar to Mullholland Drive from what I had read on the film and although the film has a similar way of being made I don't think that Lost Highway is anywhere close to the perfection that is Mullholland Drive.

Lost Highway is an extremely dark film in tone and in the way it was made. It's not a happy film at all and honestly feels very bleak. The film uses some fantastic cinematography and usage of music to create a very atmospheric vibe. I did like some aspects of Lost Highway, my favorite probably being the Soundtrack. The sounds of Smashing Pumpkins, Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails fit the tone of the film perfectly and helped the film create a moody vibe. The acting in the film is pretty solid. Patricia Arquette is obviously the lead in this film and she does a fine job of playing her role. Bill Pullman and Balthazaar Gaty also do fine jobs on there roles.

Here is my problem with Lost Highway though. I felt the film was very off the wall throughout and was often asking myself what the hell was going on. I know that this is relatively normal in a Lynch film but I just didn't feel as connected to the characters in this film as I was in Blue Velvet or Mullholland Drive. The biggest problem with Lost Highway though is the writing. The film is mediocre in the writing department and doesn't create nearly enough tension to be considered a suspense-thriller and not nearly enough scares to be considered a horror film. Lost Highway is an alternative film that really escapes genre but I just didn't love this film. I know that it's well loved by Lynch fans and film fans alike but there was just something that kept me out of the film for some reason.

Well, when you watch something from David Lynch, better prepare yourself mentally and physically. For the first one is because Lynch like to take a very strange twist that other director won't willing too take. So, get ready to be in the world where only Lynch understand.

For the second one, you need to be physically strong and awake because at the beginning he will show you so many important details, clues, that there are too many, I started to think that maybe I should carry a notebook when I watch his movies.

What I like about David Lynch. He wants you not only to sit and relax. He wants you to work and think. Not only the actors job to solving the case. He wants you to do that too.

It's not surprise that you'll find many interpretation about the movie from fans all over the world. Everyone are proud with their own theory. Lynch movies apparently always resulting the heat discussion between fans. I myself build my own theory too and it's kinda fun. That's why I'm gonna keep waiting for his next masterpiece.

Lost Highway, isn't as great and dramatic as Mulholland Drive (which is now has topped my favorite movie list ever), but better than Blue Velvet and Wild At Heart. The characters however act like they're not belong to this world. They only exist at Lynch's world and I am okay with that.

The movie started with a saxophonist, Fred Madison (Bill Pullman), heard a message on his intercom where someone said "Dick Laurent is dead". It's not as simple as that, though. It's not really about finding out who kill Dick Laurent, how he died, or who is he anyway?

It's more complex than that. At this time Fred is more curious if his wife, Renee (Patricia Arquette) is having an affair.

To make story short, Renee died, and Fred goes to jail for that. Not only that now he's on a death row. I won't say that the real plot twisting started here. On Lynch movie, it's on every scene.

David Lynch, to put it lightly, is my favorite person in the world. My expectations were pretty high when i recently watched Lost Highway, the only "lynchian" Lynch movie that I hadn't seen (still haven't seen Dune or The Straight Story). The first act is incredible, vintage Lynch. Terrifying, tense, and dreamy, I was happily settling in to let David Lynch take me to that nightmarish places that he knows so well. I'm getting creeped out right now just thinking about the scene that Bill Pullman shares early on with Robert Blake in some kind of nightmare kabuki makeup. But (without giving too much away) when the movie shifts gears in the second act and Balthazar Getty is introduced, the movie loses a lot of momentum and even more appeal. Maybe had Getty's story not bee a follow up to the first act it wouldn't have left me so cold, but as it stands the second half of the movie just felt like one big speed bump (pun intended?). By the time things come together in the end (as much as things come together in Lynchs movies), the thrill of the first act and the hope that those mysteries might somehow be revisited felt watered down. I do want to watch it again because Lynchs movies defintely reward repeat viewings, but I'm not exactly in a hurry to do so.

Aside from that, the soundtack was a big let down. Give me Angelo Badalamenti over Rammstein anyday. Jesus.

A current favourite. Dark and surreal and all those other Lynchian terms. Paved the way for Mulholland Drive very nicely. Anyone who's ever loved a woman will have a chord struck within them.

I have no idea what just happened in this film.....but I know I loved every single second of it.

Maybe it's just been awhile since i've seen a Lynch film, but I loved watching this film. I forgot why I loved David Lynch so much until I watched this.

Purely and simply...a interesting ride....that, like a majority of Lynch films....leaves you wondering what happened....but really...you know what just happened...

Lynch just blew your mind.
