Not bad at all. The animation design is really well done and some of the jokes are funny, although it could've been a bit better if it had a more sensible lesson to teach kids.

It's SOOO cute!!! Fab use of old classic music. Animation was fab and the characters are hilarious. The story is simple and sweet. The characters made for each animal is perfection~ seriously cute (and deluded).

Certainly not worthy of a sequel.

when i saw the trailers for madagascar i thought, it looks good, maybe a few laughs prob nothing bryond what the previewa show though. well i was pleasant wrong.

Madagascar gets the first rule to a solid cg animation film right, and that is Good art direction and animation. and really it goes beyond what i had anticipated.the animation style is very unique as well as hearkens back to the old school looney tunes squash and stretch styles. and the characters and environments are really beautiful to look at.

the story is a good intro piece, nothing so deep where you miss getting to know the characters personalities, but enough to keep you interested throughout, now its no Pixar film but really thats a good thing, we def need unique takes with each animation studio on style and story, and i think that the direction taken with madagascar is really suitable for the animation itself, it were deeply emotional and moving it would look strange with the highly stylized and cartoonish animation/art direction.

the humor is spot on and eccentric, each character has their own little quirks and near insane personality traits and it really just fits all into the same world, the penguins especially were incredibly funny, only problem was that there wasnt enough of them in the film.

so a good story, great animation and humor, and great for the family as well. go pick up madagascar.

Madagascar is a fun talking animal film(which is very rare to find)revolving around four zoo animals who want to escape(or at least one does) the zoo to go to the wild in search of freedom. The jokes were either funny or just for the kids, making this film fun for kids and most adults alike. The animation was nice on the eyes, and the characters were perfectly cast, fitting a few personalities quite well. Mainly Marty, played by Chris Rock. An overall good animated children's film. Rental!

Good quality family fun to be had here with four very likeable and funny animals on a trip to Madagascar. It's a great and creative storyline thats never been done before and voiced by some of the funniest actors around (Ben Stiller & Chris Rock of course). Kids will love the four main characters as they are all likeable and funny in their own ways. The lemurs are a tad silly but still very funny and you can't help but bob your head when they sing 'I Like To Move It'. Overall it's great for the kids and still enjoyable for adults as well so worth checking out.

These kids movies are perfect for a day when you just want to forget about your horrible day and laugh it all off. First time i saw this i wasnt afraid to feel like a 5 year old that loved going to the zoo and look at the animals. =) A very cool movie no matter what age you are.

An unspectacluar dreamworks film, but the voice cameos seem to make this film funny, in a dumb way
