Classic bad film that you can't help but watch anyway. This film has almost no good performances, except John Ritter and Gilbert Gottfried. Amy Yasbeck is a monster of a character and Jack Warden is sometimes funny as Big Ben Healey. The score gets on my nerves, but gets stuck in my head and the laughs are cliched. This film came out the same year as Home Alone, but that film executed them much better. Michae Richards is also here in a pre-Kramer Seinfeld role and is great. The only reason to really watch this film is in a group setting to have some laughs, but don't count on a good story or good performances.

It would have helped if the writers had given Junior a personality. The jokes just fall flat and the acting is poor. Seriously this film is just a total waste.

I really don't know why my brother keeps this on DVD. I found out that the Tomatometer for this film was only 9%. Critics hated it to death, only one thinking it's okay. I wondered why. So I popped the DVD into my player, watched the whole thing and I found out why.

This movie is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! It's just a cringe-worthy experience that is horribly acted/plotted and is targeted to the mentally retarded. If you found this funny, your sense of humour truly disturbs me.

WARNING: Spoilers dead ahead, though I think this movie deserves them.
It's about a little kid named Ben Healy who can't narrate or act without being overexcited, and he's badass. His actor makes the kid in Rock-a-Doodle sound like Macauly Culkin. He wrecks people's lives (as well as their homes) and when he was born, he was kicked out of every family he met, until he actually got to stay with one. He rapes the rooms, craps on a camp, pisses on a party and farts on a fairground. Well, he doesn't actually do any of those to the places, except that he urinates in the camp. He is so naughty that he gets expelled from school. He even calls some person in prison who turned out to be his real father, who collects him much later.

Every bad movie has holes, such as a scene where Ben interacts with a bear who is completely real, until he turns out to be a guy in a suit. At least, that's what I think happens. Some other scenes that make this film horrible are the disturbing scene of Ben's grandfather falling down the stairs and getting taken to hospital, and even Ben's father divorcing his wife named Flo as she gets stuffed in a suitcase and dropped onto a truck where she finds a pig that farts in her face as the movie ends. It's just putrid.

This is a depressing film. So depressing, it makes the remake of Cheaper by the Dozen look like its sequel. It ain't even funny. Why did this have to spawn an animated series and a couple of sequels? I'd rather watch Home Alone that this turd, and that was actually good. So don't watch Problem Child. Don't show it to your children. If you want some real bad behaviour, watch Bart Simpson's antics or read some good ol' Dennis the Menace, American or British. At least they never throbbed my heart so much.

Sadly, I would have to say that this is one of John Ritters worst films. When Ben and Flo Healy adopt an orphan, they don't know what their getting into! Chaos erupts from the child and affects their lives completley. But when a villian threatens their future, they take action. Problem Child fails to deliever only but a few laughs, no emotional moments and is not appropriate for children. The only thing I really like about this film is that Junior (Michael Oliver) wonderful acting for a child. The overall acting in the film is cheesy. Although the film contains some smart humor and a very intense action scene. Problem child also stars Amy Yasbeck, Jack Warden, and Michael Richards.
