Yes you might want to hunt me down but i do enjoy this one because it does try new things...

The first time a Resident evil story is set in the Desert which is something i have been waiting to see, but there not really that much screen time in Vegas which upset me.

Milla is as fantastic in this film as she was in the previous two... but i really do not care for these new Telekinetic abilities she's gained, Also the Tyrant looked like a walking Sh*t monster.

For as horrible as this film really is, i do enjoy how it tries to take advantage of its setting and on how it's willing to take chances, But still that's not saying much.

Final Verdict: Fairly decent looking back at it now, but still could've been way better...

Also i fear for the future of the Franchise, if you've read about it they plan to make another three and they will be 3-D
"Shudder".

I've now watched Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse which were both good movies in their own way. Resident Evil: Extinction, however, is the odd one out in the series as this isn't even remotely good.

Resident Evil heroine Alice, along with a group of survivors from Raccoon City, attempt to travel across the desert wilderness to Alaska to escape a zombie apocalypse.

The story lacks a lot of everything, I could even go so far to say that there is no story at all as it is yet again pretty much the same as its last two movies. It has nothing to do with the games whatsoever so Resident Evil gamers will definitely find this movie disappointing. There were one or two great action sequences which kept you awake such as the fight in Las Vegas and the crows but otherwise it is yet again to impress the younger audience. The last two had something to do with the games but this one didn't, it just threw references at you just to remind you that the movie is Resident Evil such as Claire Redfield, Albert Wesker and the Tyrant from the first Resident Evil game.

The acting was above average except for Milla Jovovich who managed to brighten up this dull and boring movie a little. Ali Larter who played Claire Redfield was average as was the rest of the cast. There are so many problems with this movie but one of the main problems is that you couldn't care for the characters at all, not even for Alice. Resident Evil: Extinction has made a silly twist to the story of the movie series and has an even sillier ending. The start of the movie was surprisingly promising but in the end, disappointed. Everything about the movie could have been improved, even the make-up and design for the zombies but the worst case for this is the Tyrant near the end of the movie, it wasn't anywhere near scary or believable.

3/10
Catch it on television. It's by far the worst in the series, it wrecks the movie series entirely and what's worse? There's a fourth one on the way. Don't worry, George A. Romero, you are still the King of Zombie Movies.

I thought this was the best one in the whole movie franchise. With more of a plot and more action less talking.

To begin with, know that I am a fan of the Resident Evil video game series.
The first Resident Evil brought a story that was not entertaining, but was at least creatively similar to the plots of the video games. Apocalypse brought entertainment offset by the desecration of Nemesis and a completely terrible ending. And now there is Extinction...
Extinction does not offer the entertainment of Nemesis, though I would not go so far as to say it was boring, but it does not make up for the lack of entertainment with tolerable storyline. Actually, Extinction goes on to ruin Wesker and follows up with another terrible ending.
So really, there's no upside to Extinction, just the fact that it's not boring. Know that while it is still rounded up, it is .75 rating less than the previous two films. 3.5/10

I remember in the special features for the second Resident Evil movie, producer Paul W.S. Anderson explained that the first movie is sort of a prequel to the mansion incident and the second happens during the second and third game. He also stated that the movies are in fact set in an alternate timeline to the games, which is why Apocalypse ended with Umbrella continuing their experiments, and why Extinction begins with a little prelude saying the worlds more or less been destroyed and zombies are everywhere.

It is a requirement to know this before seeing this movie. Do not, I repeat, do NOT see this as a by-the-books direct adaption of the video games. You must approach the Resident Evil movies as their own franchise, separate from the games. Having said that, there are appearances by game characters such as Albert Wesker and Claire Redfield that are faithful to the appearance and personality of their video game counterparts. Also, the overall mood of the film is very RE. There are moments that will make you cringe, and moments that will make you jump out of your seat.

If you view this as a movie based on the Resident Evil games, you will be severely disappointed. If you view it as a separate work inspired by the spirit of Resident Evil, you'll probably enjoy it. As a movie on it's own, it's quite good, with lots of great action, scares, and just the right amount of story. Hardcore fans might want to steer clear, but casual fans or people who just like horror action movies should check it out.

About the same as the second. It's heavy on the action and not much else.

It's entertaining. That's about all the good there is. The plot diverges even further from the games (since when does Umbrella virtually rule the world?), and the acting is, again, quite bad.

A much more intence "RESIDENT EVIL" take on, with more amazing stunt sequences, a fresh new plot and dramatic performances from the cast.

I was glad to see the enterance of my personal fave character from the games, Clair Redfield, who Ali Larter played fantasticly. and also the return of the characters of L.J and Carlos from Resident Evil: Appocolpse.

I was however, sligtly annoyed at the fact that this movie did not see or even have mentioned the characters of Jill Valantine or Angela Ashford, who seemed to just have vannished.

The movie also does not follow directily on from Apoccolypse, inseted opting to take the root of setting it years later.

on the whole, a great move.

This is the worst film in the series. The one good scene, which includes zombie crows, does nothing to help save this terrible film. Suprisingly the plot also gets weirder.
