The first time I watched this I hated it... but every time since it just gets so much better!!

although its not nearly as close to ferrels best, its still pretty funny. its a dumb comedy with parts that are hilarious but most parts that are stupid.

Im gona go against the grain and most peoples opinions and state that i loved this movie.. yes it doesnt flow as fluently as it probably could but the film is typically 'Ferrell' funny.. expect the usual laughs and stupid humour :).. u dont have to be into basketball to appreciate the film just be open to having a laugh.

Fuck yeah! This movie is what turned me onto basketball. Milwaukee Bucks! Brandon Jennings....dawg.

Basketball is by far my favourite sport on this planet. Everything else is very very distant, so you would think since I'm into basketball I would instantly fall in love with this movie? Wrong. Semi-Pro isn't that bad of a movie. It does have potential to make you laugh depending on the type of humour you possess. I found many things funny, but in saying that I also found a lot of things immature and completely far-fetched. Also it didn't help that they bet my favourite team (San Antonio Spurs) in the final.

Usually in these underdog type comedy movies, the viewer will connect with the lead characters and their struggle; but I just thought "who gives a fuck"
A GOOD Will Ferall movie to compare this to would be Anchor Man. In that one, you can sorta relate to his character; and you can get involved in the situation comedy.
But anyways, in Semi-Pro, it just felt like a rehashed version of Anchor-Man, and Dodgeball, and Talledega Nights, and that ice-skating one, and any other Will Ferall movies I'm forgetting to mention here. I barley even laughed in it, Andre 3000 sucked as an actor, and even Woody Harleson (who's usually great) and did what he could with the script; could'nt help.

Had It's moments all the best were with Dukes!!!!

Had its moments but overall, this movie was nowhere near the quality of Will Ferrell's past gems.

Yet another film by will ferrell that leads nowhere. It offers brief laughs but other than that this film disappoints esp. on the intelligence level.
