Not really a bad movie but it could have been much better. Amanda Bynes is ok here but she definitely does one of the worst impressions of a guy.

'Twelfth Night' is a Shakespearean comedy not just because its got a happy ending, but because its actually funny. Or at least it was to the Elizabethan/Jacobean audience. 'She's the Man' is an uber-modern adaptation of the Bard's work set within American high school.

Viola (Amanda Bynes) is a fesity, football- (or soccer if you don't understand anatomy) mad tomboy who finds her girl's football team cut from Cornwall High School. Instead of simply signing up for another sport she'd be good at, Viola constructs a ludicrously complex scheme whereby she poses as her twin brother Sebastian (running off to London with his band) at Illyria in order to enter their football team and kick her/his ex-boyfriend's football team in an area of alliterative anatomy.

It would be unfair to blame the over-complexity of the plot on the film as credit there belongs to the Bard. In an unusual way, the complexity of the plot is what adds to the humour of the movie.

Unfortunately its adding to a humour-black hole. All attempts at comedy are swallowed in an infestation of cringe and cheap slapstick corrupting a potentially witty script. Bynes effort in the main role is praiseworthy but the end result reason enough for the creation of a kill button on the remote. Other reasons for the invention of a murderous remote include the horrendously cliched script and teenage romance thrown into a putrid cauldron.

When a film takes genuine willpower and determination to watch it all the way through and it's supposed to be a light-hearted comedy, very little more needs to be said.

Amanda Bynes has been in too many B-Movies. This movie was no where near Shakespeare and relied to heavily on slapstick. Highly predictable

Good film if you are 12 otherwise its just cringe worthy throughout, even though Channing Tatum provides eye candy for the length of the film.

Watchable and occassionally funny, but another one of those crappy and overly-fake tween films. The whole story is stupid and the whole dressing up as boy thing is so unconvincing that even a 2-year-old would figure it out. The story is predictable and pathetically bad and the acting is rubbish with lack of character chemistry. I only recommend this film if you like silly teen attempting-romance type of films. This film wont do much for you otherwise.

Amanda Bynes is okay, but she can be a bit out there sometimes. That kinda ruins it for me. She's the Man did get me squealing at just the right amount though, afraid she might get caught. It's still kinda predictable, and has that typical boy-falls-for-the-girl-he-never-knew-existed teeny bopper thing going for it.

60% - Just enough to be mildly entertaining, but not so much. Okay. Not original. Predicatable story-line.

* Teeny Bopper - Teen girls will like it
