Mind twisting story.. great!

Pretty interesting and mysterious movie I give it 8/10 worth a good watch!

thought it was a great movie, bit long but i think it was necessary for plot development. i give it an 8/10. only watch it if you like mysteries, can be boring for the impatient.

I like films that are a bit mysterious of itself such as secret window and gothika, i kinda liked this movie too but unlike the other ones that i really liked this on3 was very predictible as some of you already commented.

Shutter Island is too long in several segments of the film, which only delays what you already know what is going to happen. Repetitious and predictable despite beautiful cinematography.

I like how the film takes you back to the fifties but its pretty easy to lose interest, specially when one has already such a great intuition on what the ending will be by the halfway point

When I saw the trailer I knew this wouldn't be a straight forward film, but I also noticed that it wasn't the kind of film that Scorcese's does and this just added to the urge of wanting to see it.
Since I have loved all of Scorcese's other films and I adore DiCaprio as an actor, for me, this was the perfect fit.
Teddy Daniels is a Deputy Marshall who is sent to Shutter Island to investigate how one patient escaped from her cell when no one saw her leave and the door and window in her room were untouched. As he stays longer he begins to realise that he's biting off more than he can chew as he starts to see things and have horrible nightmares.
As the signs start to become clear on what is going on on this island he discovers something that would change his out look on his life.
Excellent performance from the whole cast with huge regards to DiCaprio and Earle Haley, Scorcese has definatly shown us a new side to his ability in film.

This movie is for all those people who are picky about movies and plots but had enough of spoiled critics that need to reexamine themselves. You will utterly enjoy this movie.

I saw this film a few days ago and I liked it a lot more than I thought I was going to. The film is about two US Marshall's who go to a mysterious mental Hospital on Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of one of the patients. That's not the plot for long. I liked where the plot went at each moment. I liked how I was on the edge of my seat with the C Block scenes. I really liked the ending. I won't give anything away but it was truly amazing. I liked how it was sort of ambiguous. "Is it better to live a monster or die a good man" I take of some points for screenplay weaknesses but other than that it was a really good movie.
