An amazing movie that is a 100% must see. Proablly the best sci-fi movie of all time with very little argument.

Revolutionary film. Some of the best special effects of all time, even by today's standards.

Avatar is for our generation what Star Wars was for theirs. That's what they say. But there is a big difference out there. I'm sorry, Jimmy Cameron, I have to tell you that this movie would knock yours out in 5 seconds if they both were in the ring. Avatar is fine, but just 60% as maximum. But I give this movie a 90% because apart of the special effects, it is still great.

An amazing accomplishement. Moviemaking magic. As a kid at age 8, star wars is my most fond memory of my childhood. a must watch along with the even greater empire strikes back,even if you hate scifi or as an introduction to it. For what i can negatively say about lucas's anti piracy views and the less than spectacular prequels, I do have to respect and admire lucas for what is a large chunk and portion of mine and many others childhood. They just don't make movies like this anymore.

in 1977 there were not many movies like this and that is why it was so successful but it is a very good movie and is not underated or overated.
