really didn't want to watch this movie as I love the first movie. Once I worked out how it related to the first movie I really did enjoy watching it!

How can this be rated so low? Its a DANCE movie....and I know you don't think that dancing was lame. The DANCE scenes in this DANCE movie were amazing, and thats what it comes down to. No, Tuck and Missy were not the best actors. Cassie wasn't all that either. But the DANCING was sick, and the end dance scene was one of the best I have ever seen. So if you haven't figured it out by now, if you want to watch a good DANCE movie, watch this one.

I liked this film. It has nice storyline and it's not just about pure dancing. It has heart which I love. Probably one of the best hip-hop themed film I've seen so far. The last part where they were dancing in the rain, totally amazing and off the hook. Briana Evigan is a great dancer!. 7/10.

Better than fist part. Less talk, more action. More dances and they are better & longer.

There is something so addictive and something so engaging about Step up 2. Could it be it's deliciously hot leads gorgeous(and shirtless) Robert Hoffman and sexy Briana Evigan. I mean the steamy rain dance alone from the finale is enough to blushing. But the film although generic, cliched and pretty much by the numbers features a real pizazz to it. Step up 2 is a lively piece of entertainment filled with truly creative and exciting dance sequences as well as good performances (for this type of cheesiness) and a moving chemistry between cast, story, direction and cinematography. All in all it makes for a wonderfully entertaining dance movie that just may be the best of its genre.

A terribly formulaic film with cringe-worthy performances, hilarious dialogue, by the book characters, and one hell of a square-jawed lead actress. It will make you google the writer just to see if they are messing with you.
