I really dug this new entry in the Terminator series. Glad they chose to not focus so much on Christian Bale's character this time and go a whole new route with Sam Worthington's Marcus. Acting wasn't as solid as hoped and the PG-13 aspect made me hang my head in shame, but still a great film in my opinion. Better than Terminator 3 atleast.

'Terminator Salvation' is a movie of two halfs. The first is of pretty good special effects and plenty of action, which is the staple for modern day sci/fi films. However, the second half, the actualy plot/acting, seemed to be an afterthought to the scriptwriters.

The plot overall was fairly average. It followed a death row inmate (Sam Worthington), who signed his body over to skynet scientists in 2003, a year before judgement day. Cut to 2018. John Connor (Christian Bale), is rampaging around a desolate version of America, shooting hordes of Terminators. The characters end up joining forces in an exceedingly predictable fashion as if the scriptwriters couldn't be bothered and simply merged a number of other sci/fi films.

On the positive side, the action was superb. Great special effects and plenty of explosions to keep even the most action mad movie go-er happy.

Let down by an average story and equally as average acting, 'Terminator Salvation' gets a 6/10 from me.

The worst of the terminator series. This should be on billboards of why not to let 20 year old cokeheads reboot movie franchises (or mtv directors). Lacks the substance of being a constant chase movie of the great Terminator 1 and 2, especialy after throwing out Brad Fidels great soundtrack and putting in something watered down and terrible. Worthington is uncharasmatic, Bale even moreso. Thier is never a sense of care or bond between Reese and Connor, Bale plays it too panicky.

They failed this franchise in so many ways with this movie, including Bales cussing out of the intern on set and his lame excuse wich made me a non fan of bale, that he did it because sarah connor was crazy and he was just getting into his part. lol.Reese looks to old for his age whos suppose to be 14 or so (looking 19-20).
Only kids from 18-24 will like this who have no movie taste and think batman begins and other sad reboots are visionary movies and havent seen great movies of the 70s and 80s. your generation rips off my generation. So bad i wont watch another terminator movie (unless arnold comes back) or mcg flick. thanks for ruining another franchise of my youth guys :). A heartless waste of time, watch

Terminator 4 lacks the emotional atmosphere and heart of the past 3 terminators. But definitely a movie to see for the die hard fans.

i was very interested to see the actual war between the humans and skynet after T3, and to tell you the truth, i wasn't dissapointed.

The movie's miserable violent atmosphere gives Skynet's ground and air combat vehicles and robots a greyish-brown camouflage color so that the humans would have difficulty distinguishing them from demolished buildings and vehicles. As I watched the DVD movie while listening to the headphones connnected to the TV, I heard more sound effects and clear human voices than through the cinema speakers that seem to drown the actor's words with loud sound effects. Great terminator bike stunt action with no rider. I thought the bikes were like Transformers changing from bike to terminator.

You know what to expect when you see this film.

awesome special effects but it did not have the same passion and heart that the first 2 and i guess the 3rd had. of course terminator 1 and 2 could not be beat, i feel like this film should have never been made. it does not compare to the first 2 and like i expected i was dissappointed.
