i loved this movie, its awesome!!

it's pretty good but i am not a hard core fan of it

This film shows that Japanese ghosts are scary but Japanese story-lines are flawed and the scares are pop-ups.

The fact this movie got the highest grossing horror of as of 2009 is truly pathetic. Though it has it's scary moments, the Japanese version, Ju-On, is way better. They both have the exact same story, but this is just terribly drone.

I found this to be really entertaining IN theaters. One of the last movies I remember watching that got me a couple times in terms of scares. It's stupid but hey it's a good time.

This movie isn't scary at all. It's just stupid and unrealistic.

Uhhh...where to begin. Well, first thing, don't try to understand what's going on. Just don't. There's ghost, they kill people because of a cursed house, that's all you need. The acting is alright, with some good special effects and generally creepy shit throughout but with a plot more holey than swiss cheese shot at with a machine gun. :I

This isn't a scary film but it did make me leave the light on for a month! i didn't think much of the plot though.

Theres 1 problem with the grudge.It lacks logic.Look there does not have to be logic for a film to be enjoyable.But this film lacks ALL logic.It has some "Scary" moments,but there far between (yes there is couple).For the record,i like the grudge.Its not bad,but its lack of logic makes it hard to belive.I mean,why haven't the ghosts gone after the old lady in the house? Why do the ghosts disappear when you,well,sorta blink and look the other way? Why does it take so long for the ghosts to kill you? WHY DO YOU BECOME ONE OF THEM WHEN YOU DIE?! HOW DO YOU EVEN DIE?! See,these questions are never explained.And thus,makes the film hard to belive and,at times,hard to understand.


To start off the review.Here is the "Origin" of the Ghosts.A man (Being the husband of the main ghost.The one in the poster) finding out his wife is having an affair (I presume.Sorry,i dont read japanese) and goes on a rampage.He snaps his wifes neck (Hence the croaking sound) and she crawls down the stairs.She dies,and her son see's the entire thing.He makes a loud Mewow sound (Hence the mewowing sound the lil' boy makes) and he drowns him and his cat.He proceeds to slice there necks with a knife.He then hangs himself.Its a disturbing and,actually,a very haunting intro.The odd thing is that the husband never makes another appearance until the second film.Sure he isn't a main character,but it would nice to see him play a larger role in the film.


Well the movie has,surpringly,outstanding coninuity.Just wanted to mention that.Well overall,The Grudge is a mediocore film.Its sorta underrated and lacks all logic.Its harsh to give it a rotten rating.I give it a 6 out of 10.You can do much worse to be honest.
