:D HEBREW HAMMER is the quinessential stereotype movie. It uses almost every jewish item known to Americans including a license plate that reads "LChaim" . ADAM GOLDBERG did the film for his cousin in about 3 weeks in and around NYC. There are a couple of good scenes to see: Mordechai's entrance to the headquarters of the KLP and his GOLDBERG'S infamous line to the bad guys "Shabbat Shalom Mother******s" The movie is great fun and as a Jew, I didn't find HEBREW HAMMER the least bit offensive. It's great to be able to laugh...

The Hebrew Hammer
Directed by: Jonathan Kesselman

This is, without a doubt, the single best political drama I have ever seen. No other film, TV show, or play I've ever seen is in the same league. Otto Preminger's Advise and Consent is fairly close, but this film remains in a league of it's own.

That isn't to say the film doesn't have problems. If viewed from a purely cinematic point of view, the film is just OK. The acting is good, not great. The cinematography and set design is far too glossy and boring to look at. The characters are fairly well defined, but again, nothing spectacular.

What makes this movie great, is that it is the one and only film I have ever seen that really understands politics. It understands the language, the methods, the motives, the ambiguities, it understands it all. NO other film I have ever seen does this. Not The West Wing, not The American President, not Nixon, certainly not The Contender, not Amazing Grace, not Amistad, not any other movie related closely to politics I've seen.

This movie is about the Cuban Missile Crisis and it plays it to a T. It portrays the single most contentious and difficult political dealing since World War 2, and doesn't miss anything really. There are a few scenes that resort to speeches too much, but very few.

I don't know what else I should say about this movie. It speaks a language that most films simply do not understand. If you also are in tune with that language, it is refreshing and exhillerating to hear it spoken so clearly.

A funny-ass holiday movie! Adam Goldburg plays everyone's favorite crime-fighting jewish hero, The Hebrew Hammer. When a renagade Santa(Andy Dick) becomes hell bent on destroying all holidays, Hammer must save the day!:fresh:

In "Hebrew Hammer", Santa Claus is killed by his son, Damian(Andy Dick) who now wants to get rid of Hanukah. Only the Hebrew Hammer, Mordecai Jefferson Carver(Adam Goldberg), aided by the beautiful Esther(Judy Greer) and the leader of the Kwanzaa Liberation Front(Mario van Peebles) can stop the new Santa Claus from carrying out his nefarious schemes.

"Hebrew Hammer" is an amusingly silly spoof of blaxploitation movies of the 70's with a serious message of tolerance. It simultaneously tries to send up stereotypes(Mordecai is Jewish and macho) but also uses them on occasion.(For example, Nora Dunn is extremely annoying as a Jewish mother.) There are some wonderful moments. And a couple of great cameos add to the fun. Goldberg is likable and Greer is quite appealing. In the end, the movie really does not make much sense but that does not mean it cannot be enjoyed.

I will first want to say that if you are not Jewish or know little to nothing about Jewish people you will not like this movie. This movie is edgy and makes fun of Christianity and even Black people. The movie is vulgar and makes fun of every religion and has the common stereotypes of Jewish people and is somewhat a satire on the movie Shaft. The Hebrew hammer is a detective who is trying to save Hannukah from the new Evil Santa clause which goals is to wipe out hannukah and then every other holiday from it. So the Hebrew Hammer has to stop the Evil Santa played by Andy Dick. This movie is not for anyone under 14 but keeps you laughing and makes the Hebrew Hammer a new great super hero who brings a new concept and character to life. I give it a 8/10 and suggest anyone is knows anybody Jewish well will also enjot this movie.

A quickie poop too catch up due to my current journal lethargy....

Hebrew Hammer

Silly, scattershot, hit & miss satirical pisstake with a Jewish slant. Goldberg is good, overall quite fun to watch, with a few chuckles and guffaws elicited...have a poop.

The Natural

American folktale with a baseball theme. About redemptive 2nd chances for a naive hero. Nicely made, with a superb score by Randy Neumann. The clocktower shot with the music score still gives me the buzz it did the 1st time.....Poop it

Aliens vs Predator

From the sublime to the ridiculous.....I enjoyed it...is it any good?.... I don't know or care at the moment......Next!........

The Hebrew Hammer

Review:

Adam Goldberg is the shit, this is just balls out funny. Unsensored The Hebrew Hammer is much funnier than the T.V. debut. I would have given this an eight but I can't stand Andy Dick. The only part I find unbelievable (Hahaha) was when Hammer pulled out two pump-action shotguns. How're you supposed to reload, pump, the chamber after each shot with a gun in each hand? I'm shvitzin' about the whole thing.

OK, so I laughed occassionally, but at what cost? A truly despicable piece of dreck. Oy!
