eh.... this was one of those funny movies because they just f*** at the end of a sentence that wasn't originally very funny, it was interesting but it didn't do well because well its kinda stupid. but a great cast, but a good watch. I don't know if this story is truely true or not but if it is I give it a 7 but since I'm not sure about it i'll give it a 6.3.

One word, PLOT. So different from anything I've seen in a movie before. Hilarious too. Definitely check this flick out if you want something a bit different.

Started of as interesting story and funny odd ball character but somehow lost the plot in the middle of it, you just can't figure out where is it going.

Good actorss, terrible story and terrible visuals do not add up to a watchable movie. Nothing is believeable in this farce.

I still can't figure out what the point of this movie was. I was watching it and all of a sudden I realize there is ten minutes left and there was no point to it. There was no climax. I thought the story was developing the whole time to get to the ultimate conflict which never arose. The acting as you would expect was great, but that doesn't make up for the lack of depth in this movie. The overall plot of this movie was stupid. An army of psychics that is fake and sometimes works (like when the cloud bursts), but most of the time doesn't. It wasn't funny. There were a few jokes here and there that I thought were funny, but not funny enough to laugh at. I had this movie at a 40% before the very last scene where he jumps through the wall. That made the movie much worse. I don't know why I even had it that high in the first place. The fact that there was no conflict destroyed this movie completely.

Bob Wilton (Ewan McGregor) is a journalist who after learning of his wife's affair decides to cover the Iraq War overseas. Once in Kuwait he comes across Lyn Cassidy (George Clooney) a former special psych-ops solider in the New Earth Army. Bob offers to cover Lyn's story, but is casted off until Lyn decides that people need to know their story. Their amusing adventures are pretty much standard slapstick but never veers into any substantial material such as political films like Dr. Strangelove.

Through flashbacks we are presented the creation of the New Earth Army through the eyes of Bill Django (Jeff Bridges) a hippie that after being shot in Vietnam has an epiphany: their gentleness is their strength. The Bridges portion of the film is most effective and most entertaining as we are introduced a hippie in the midst of a program that seeks to only train those to kill. The decision to establish psych-ops is perhaps the funniest moment of the film, "Sir we cannot allow the Russians to create a gap in psych-ops research!"

Clooney and Bridges soar in their roles, but McGregor and Spacey really provide nothing in the way of compelling story. The Men Who Stare At Goats is your typical run of the mill comedy that while you snicker and laugh, once you leave the theatre will probably never think about ever again. So in good conscience I would have to recommend seeing something else this weekend.
