I enjoyed the first movie and was kind of excited to see the sequel and though I enjoy some of the battle sequences it was just too over the top with the effects and there was no cohesive story, just one gimmick after the other. There was just too much going on that had nothing to do with anything that only detracted from the actual story telling, avoid this one.

To a certain extent, it feels a lot like a typical sequel. It has many references to the original, they overdo the action a bit, they bring in more kinds of mummies, and they exaggerate the gross stuff a bit more (bugs eating people, Imhotep absorbing people, etc.)

But none of that stuff really ruined the movie. I think that none of those factors were really overdone at all. They were all pretty enjoyable to me.

This one was pretty similar to the original but with more action and a more complex plot. It's not as good as the first one, but it's still a lot of fun.

Great sequel to a great movie...except with the over-blown CGI use.
Imhotep is back,Evey and some demented Mediteranian beauty have past-life flashbacks and whatnot....and then there is The Rock...one of the biggest wrestling Superstars at the time and he is only shown at the beginning of the movie in human form and transformed into a horrible CGI Scorpi-man(half man, half scorpion)near the end.

Aside from that last part, the movie is quite enjoyable!

Apart from the awful script and lame plot twists, this film will actually make you hate the mildly enjoyable prequel, The Mummy; as such it should be avoided by fans of the original at all costs.

I thought it pretty good. It was fun but not as good as the first one. This movie was pure adventure with some comic relief. It had no horror elements like the first one. The action was good but this one had more humor in it and with the O'Connell's kid in this movie it just made it better. The chemistry is still there. The special effects were good and not a bad story. It did feel different from the orignal. However this movie lacked the feeling of the first one and instead of being a good horror sequel it ended up being an adventure sequel, but overall it was good.

The Mummy Returns is actually not that bad of a sequel, while it is not quite as good as the first one, it's still pretty close. The Mummy Returns also has some great action scenes, especially the double decker bus scene. So overall, if you like the first one, you will probably like this one. If not, just don't bother.

This is a really good sequel to "The Mummy" Remake, the special effects were good, the acting was pretty descent, using "The Rock" To play the scorpion king was pretty impressive, the action scenes were good, but what holds this movie being awesome is that some of the CGI looked a bit cheesy and parts were a bit boring, In the end, The Mummy Returns is a great movie and you should check this one out.

It honestly feels like the first movie all over again with some tiny changes. The charm of the first movie has worn off and is a disappointing sequel in every regard. It's too long and the monsters, especially the Scorpion King looks like a retarded cgi abomination from the cutting room floor of industrial lights and magic's mentally challenged little brother. Brendan Fraser does his best but overall it's mediocre.

The action scenes are great, the special effects are barly above average, but everything else isn't great about The Mummy Returns. Brendan Fraser isn't as credible, the story is really weak, and The Rock is just horrible for the part of the Scorpion King, and he had his own spin-off.
