I loved Spongebob as a child, so of course I saw this movie, and of course I own it. Though it doesn't quite measure up to the cartoon, it's still a very fun movie to watch. It's a bit childish, but hey, it's a cartoon, what did you expect?

While this film appeals to children of 3-7 years old and to the parents of those children who have a taste for terrifyingly stupid movies, this film nausiates and disappoints. When I saw the rating, I was in total shock of the stupidity of all these "die hard" Spongebob fans, they are all idiotic, and tasteless movie critics.

I don't believe there is a funnier cartoon movie to be seen on this planet. I absolutely love this movie.

Why did I give it an eighty then? Well, the movie has no real point to it other than a great laugh. The story is the basic hero saves town kind of thing. What makes this so great is the humor involved. I mean, there is nothing that can be so random as SpongeBob and make it seem relevant somehow.

Spongebob Squarepants. Can a character seriously get any goofier and funnier? Damn I laughed the hell out of myself here. The excessive silliness and utter stupidity are really essential! Often comedies nowadays don't delve us into the humor much; spoofs such as Epic Movie and Date Movie are only to name the worst of the bunch. Their kind of stupidity and dumbness are so terribly bad and stupid that you can really appreciate the smart stupidity and silliness this has to offer. The story is good, and the acting is over the top in a funny, goofy sort of way which add to the amount of stupidly funny jokes present here. (See how many times I've said 'stupid'? It really is the only way I can describe how funny this is!)

If you want to have a good laugh but don't want to waste more than an hour and a bit, this is your perfect treat! It's FUN!!!

When I saw the trailer for this I thought it will be bad. I was wrong. It was funny. All the jokes worked for me. The songs were catchy. This film will really please fans of the television series and will make others laugh as well.

Though the humor is excessively silly and thus sorta juvenile, the humor still works quite well, and makes this, ultimately, just as funny as the show on which it is based. I just have to say "Hasselhoff", and everyone who's seen this should immediately know the scene I'm talking about.

If nautical nonsense is something you wish, then you'll love the hell out of this film! The Spongebob Squarepants Movie is not only entertaining with its nonsensical humor, but also surprisingly touching with some of its morals. I like how Spongebob gets all excited for his promotion to manager, and then gets his dreams shattered when Squidward gets the promotion instead. I can't tell you how many times that's happened to me! The film is a lot of fun for the whole family, and it's still able to hold up even after six years.

The movie starts out as funny, but slowly drags on and starts becoming annoying. I can only take so many consecutive minutes of screaming before it begins to wear off on me. As much as I love the cartoons, the movie was basically an overdose of typical random Spongebob humor and put me off of the series entirely for a good while.

A funny movie for the sponge, but it wasn't funnier than the show. They made the comedy between the show and movie about equal. Which was good, but they could have made it funnier.

I am a huge Spongebob Squarepants fan. I have been for at least 1/3 of my life. I'm 18 now and I've been a fan of Spongebob since I was about 11 or 12. Go figure.
But that doesn't mean when the first Spongebob Squarepants movie appears doesn't mean I am going to fall in love with it. Because I'm not, I wasn't sold on this movie and I'm still not sold on it. It wasn't good enough it did have a lot of laughs however. I also don't justify putting in David Hasselhoff into the movie either. He's a washed up actor who is a has been, sorry to be harsh but it's true and there was no need for him to be there, there was NO need for his cameo what so ever. But it was nice to see the gang of Spongebob and Patrick together again for a bunch of silly mayhem. People of all ages will enjoy this and for some reason I feel like that I would like to see a sequel but not named Spongebob Squarepants 2, just a movie in a whole different direction.
