Am I the only one who thought this movie was a Gay Romance? Seriously, watch it again and look for the signs.

Maybe it's just because I watched this growing up, but I could never find anything wrong with this film like other people could. It combines a military flick with a chick flick, and I think it does it well without becoming too cheesy in either direction. It has a nice soundtrack, a non-over-the-top love story, and an emotional tragedy. Plus, it was also the highest grossing movie of 1986, and the 10th top grossing of the decade. Am I right?

Great action. Good tension. Absolutely horrendous script is what lets the film down. Everything about the film is predictable, and nothing about it is brilliant.

Tom Cruise Classic.
Loved this movie when I was young and still do.
My dad loved putting on the surround sound watching this movie.
