As a huge Dracula, horror film buff...I may be alone here but, I don't care.

This movie is GREAT. The gorgeous backdrops of the Carpathian Mountains, the ice castle of Dracula, the black and white begining of movie, the horse team chases...it's all there.

The perfectly cast Vampiresses (HOT) and Kate herself, alone carries half the film if need be.

The CGI is seamless and the Frankenstein is flawless. On a big screen in Blu Ray I saw small details I'd never seen before.
The musical score is brilliant.

Werewolves, Frankenstein, Dracula, Gabriel, Beckensale, Jackman, Jeckyl in a Victorian Paris...c'mon.

Are you guys going to try to convince me Twilight is better??!

This movie is a MUST own for any classic horror film Blu Ray buff.

I watched Van Helsing...
hoo boy. Well lets see... Ya know the guys who sit around take a bunch of things in a room and somehow make a car? This was alot like that.
The Movie starts out with Frankenstein being made and the Villagers torturing the Windmill and all that jazz. But Dracula is added for a nifty twist. Anyway Frankenstein is born, and bizzarely sounds like the Cowardly lion and is quite the bright old chap. But anyway the Movie then starts, with Van Hellsing Brutally killing another Ape like Version of Mr. Hyde, Stolen from LXG who is CGI and looks Something like a shaved Donkey Kong. anyway Van Hellsing proceeds to brutally murder him then he runs off to Rome. in Rome theres a Crazy Catholic Conspiracy. JUST LIKE I HAD SAID ALL ALONG! lead by that master of evil! that lord of Tricks! the pope! anyway Popeypoo then sends Van Hellsing to kill Dracula, and for laughs teams him up with a Horny Cowardly Monk who invents things in his spare time. (what? they couldnt find time to stick a wind tunnel in his right hand too?)
Anyway Then they goto Pennsyl, I mean Transylvania and Instantly 3 Harpy Whores Attack Van Hellsing, and Some Whore he runs into right away. Anyway The Harpys attack some folks, Swing a Cow around, and then Val Hellsing Aces one of the Dingos. Much to the Audiances Relief, the Cow Survived! Anyway then lots of crap happenes. Van Hellsing confronts Dracula right away, Dracula transforms into his Final form, but its obscured due to Movie Irony, Dracula has a million baby gargoyles that hang from Nutsacks, The Wolf Man Randomly Shows up and bites a million people. And for whatever reason They make it out alive.
It was around this point in the movie that I noticed this crazy Film doesnt go wihtout 3 minutes without Something Either Exploding, Screaming, Or just flat out trying to Stop the Audience from Getting comfortable. Then they meet Frankenstein and decide to take him on a road trip. But sure enough things go wrong. the Two Remaining Harpies ladies try to destroy Van Hellsings Carridge in Attack Mode. But he tricks them, and kills another one with a Fantastic Needle bomb! Can I hear a Shu Shu Shu from all the ladies in the house! Anyway then The other one kidnaps, Van Hellsing's Bimbo. Then theres a Big Fancy Ballroom dance scene, Suprise Suprise their all vampires, And Hellsing gets Super Powers for rediculous reasons. Then Dracula Captures Frankenstein, which he needs to make all his Nut Sacks get pregnant. Then Everyone goes back home. Then sure enough its revealed that Dracky's Castle is in hell, and the door to hell is inside a map, which Van Hellsing just convienently has the missing piece to, so they all go to hell. Hellsing goes to fight Duckula while Monky and Bimbo go to get the Cure to Van Hellsings Life Crippling Illness. Then Monk has a face off with Igor, who looks just plain crappy in this movie. I mean they seriously didnt try with him. Meanwhile Bimbo fights the only Harpy who didnt die in a stupid way. and kills her in a stupid way. Then The Movie ends in a rediculous Kaiju Battle. Oh yea and the Bimbo just drops dead. In the End the Movie tries to sell you on Catholicism once again, and its promise of an after life. Then it shows some very flash credits that were obviously meant to air at the begining of the movie But were pushed to the end since they violate this movies 3 Minute, Explosion clause.

All in all I'd say good shot, but they just tried too hard, They raped some classic literature, and Gave us Cartoony versions of Classic monsters. but hey, we got our blood/sex fill right? Wrong. Come back Next Year for Van Hellsing 2 - Van Hellsing vs. the Mummy an Alien, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and a single Mother.

I tried to watch this movie............twice (4 years apart) and I just couldn't get past the scene under Rome. This movie will make you feel like you've lost some IQ points.

i like the high tech cinematography, it makes the film beautiful to watch. this film had promise but it fails to deliver true horror with the 3 horror giants and the action sequences aren't ones to remember.

Van Helsing combines three of the most famous Universal monsters into one film; Dracula, Frankenstein's monster and The Wolfman and although this had already been done in House Of Frankenstein (1944) Van Helsing added the character Van Helsing who didn't appear in any Universal monster films (He appeared in Bram Stoker's 1897 novel Dracula).
I actually really liked this film and although Frankenstein's monster irritated me the rest of the film was exactly what i expected a monster action film. Director Stephen Sommers does get sloppy every now and then but this film wasnt meant to be taken seriously.

I like how they added all of the monsters from literature and folklore, and I like Hugh Jackman, which makes this movie at least a good action flick.

If you love vampires and all that world of cinema then u'll love this, kate beckinsale does an excelent performance and her chemistry with Hugh Jackman is good, but count dracula can be a bit to panto and a bit rubbish and so can some of the scenes he's in, the CGI is amazing amazing and overall it's a very entertaining film, with a little bit of bad acting, directing and script at certain points

Too much bad taste combined with too many bad ideas make this movie completely forgettable. But then... what can you expect from a 19th century european hero with an oversized cowboy hat?
