Can be slow in places ..but certain scenes worth the price of admission so to speak. I saw an interview with Joan Crawford about her acting in the film. Clearly she took herself a bit too seriously.

I would not be surprised if this is the movie that drove Joan Crawford nuts. You don't really know what kind of movie this is until about a quarter of the way through, when Bette Davis' character, after dancing around the room pretending she's a little girl, looks into the mirror and lets out a heart-wrenching scream. Then it gets terrifying.

This is an incredibly creepy movie, but it's not without its weak spots. Still, it turns out some incredible performances (including one from the most kick-ass cleaning lady ever). Definitely worth a rental.

Bette Davis' portrayal of Jane Hudson, with her cringe-inspiring psychosis, is maddening and saddening all at once. Grisly, fiendish, and cruel beyond anything Stephen King could have contrived for "Misery".

OK there may be a couple of unbelievable moments, but overall it is absolutely amazing they could have made this film in 1962. What a story, way before Misery. Nail biting stuff, complemented by two of the best performances I have ever seen on B&W film. I wouldn't watch it again just because it made me so stressed out, powerful!
