This was not even close to the first in quality or content. The djinn once again escapes from his gem, and goes to jail this time. He grants more wishes and runs out of people to steal the souls of. So he breaks out and goes to Vegas, where people trade their souls anyway. Once again, he is outsmarted by a mortal woman, facing further imprisonment.

Morgana is involved in a museum robbery that goes astray. The foiled robbery leads to a police officer and Morgan's boyfriend getting shot. Morgan escapes the police department with the booty from the robbery; however, during the shootout a statue and ruby causing a deity, known as the Wishmaster, to be unleashed onto our planet. The Wishmaster's ambition is to collect souls and free himself from the confines of the stone. The Wishmaster will force Morgana to partake in his ambitions.

"I believe you said you'd like to see your lawyer fuck himself. I can arrange that."

Jack Sholder, director of Alone in the Dark (1986), A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2, Supernova, and Arachnid, delivers Wishmaster 2. The storyline for this picture is unique and fascinating at times. The point of the story is pathetic, but the scenarios and situation the Wishmaster is placed in was intriguing. The acting was mediocre but everyone in the cast delivered an okay performance for the genre.

"I'm gonna shove my fist so far down your throat you're going to be shitting knuckles."

The first Wishmaster film possessed a storyline that I found fun for the horror genre. Wishmaster is an interesting character that is outside the realm of Freddy, Jason, or Michael Myers. However, the first film concluded poorly and did not live up to its full potential. Wishmaster 2 only had a few glimpses of entertaining content. The jail and casino ideas were wonderful; however, everything else was pathetic. Nevertheless, you should give this film a shot if you enjoyed the first Wishmaster.

"Do you want to know what my wish is?"
"I'm all ears."

What the hell? Why do they keep making these films? I am surprised that I worry about getting a screenplay produced when schlock like this is being tossed onto video like effing candy. Hate flows through me like blood hen I think of this mindless dreck. Zero Stars (out of ****) F

Not as good as the original, but re-releasing the legendary monster, the Djinn begins his reign of terror, bringing true some more gruesomely hillarious wishes. Missing the tallents Craven brought to the first. 3.5/5

Wishmaster was a good film. It had its ups and down. Even though the film was quite entertaining and the deats were very gruesome, the film also had lots of flaws. Even when people didn't really make wishes, the Dijinn, who is the wishmaster or genie, would do something. The power of the Dijinn wasn't really described. I didn't know if he could kill people on his own , or how wishes totally worked.

Wishmaster 2 was much better than the first film. All the flaws which were in the first film were gone in this sequel. The Wishmaster or Dijinn is cooler and the plot is much better. Wishmaster 2 also was mostly about the wishmaster/Dijinn rather than the female lead. I found this entry to be arguably the best and much better than its predeccesor.

Wishmaster 3 was total crap. The Dijinn sucked. This film is definetely the most gory of them all. The kills are very disgusting. The plot is just a rehash of the first film. The film feels like it has no plot. This film is the one you should skip from the Wishmaster series. It doesn't move the series any further and its a waste of time.

Wishmaster: The Prophecy Fulfilled is very good. This film can also be argued as the best in the series. The problem with this entry is that there is little horror. Even though the first half has some chills, this film has more plot and story than anything. The film also has its share of gore and nasty kills. This story is about the Dijinn and the Dijinn's feelings and interaction with humans. In this film, the Dijinn isn't totally bad like in the other films. This film is more of a action/horror. The main character in this film is the best from all the films. I felt that this was really the only Wishmaster where the viewer actually cares about the characters, for that reason only it is a superior entry into the franchise.

This series is divided into 2 parts, the good and the ugly. This part is for the movies that actually made it to the big screen.
Wishmaster
The best of the series, usually the first always is, finding out the rules and story. Powered by an evil and rather grotesquely cool villain, it is a great gory horror film, kind of a be careful what you wish for message. This is not for the squeamish, but it is decent enough movie to rent.
Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies
The series lost a little bit of its thunder, adding some unneeded humor, but it kept the gore and the story together unlike the other sequels. This movie is just iffy, so the first is much better in my opinion.
