Beyond the Poseidon Adventure ( Beyond The Poseidon Adventure ) is a disaster film American directed by Irwin Allen , released in 1979 . This is the sequel to The Adventure of Poseidon ( 1972 ). This film has a huge commercial and critical failure. This is Allen’s only disaster movie that has not had any Academy Award nominations .
Synopsis
In 1972 a long -distance shot returned the luxurious Poseidon liner in the middle of the ocean, and the few survivors are now waiting for help. They arrive via Mike Turner, captain of a tugboat. At the same time, terrorists who intercepted the Poseidon distress call are also on the spot to seize the gold and plutonium in the liner. The abandoned suite
Director Irwin Allen had planned a third sequel where survivors of the sinking told the disaster, but at the wrong time, the tunnel they pass collapses and these survivors had to exit the tunnel, but this principle was used for the disaster film by Rob Cohen entitled Daylight 2 .
Box office results
Estimated at 25 000 000 dollars of budget, the film did not recover half of it in its exploitation on the American territory.
