Louis, child king

Louis, enfant roi is a French film directed by Roger Planchon , released in cinemas on April 20, 1993 .

The film follows the events of the Fronde from 1648 to 1652 with precision while remaining very theatrical (Planchon being a man of theater). The story is presented through the role of Philip (brother of the king), both protagonist and narrator of the story.

Synopsis

January 1649: since the death of his father, the young Louis XIV must make the hard training of royal power. He has to face the intrigues of the great ones of the kingdom who lead the Fronde , with the agreements and betrayals of his relatives. He is helped in this by his mother Anne of Austria and by Mazarin.
