Romola is a novel of the literary woman British George Eliot published in 1862 – 1863 , and whose action is happening in xv th century. It is a study of artistic, religious, intellectual and social life from the city of Florence to the Renaissance . It was published in fourteen deliveries in the Cornhill Magazine in July 1862 of (volume 6, n o 31) and August 1863 (Volume 8, n o 44). Several historical figures from the History of Florence appear in the novel.
