Synopsis
Louis XI , king of France , and Charles the Bold , duke of Burgundy , are in situation of “cold war”. Louis XI seeks to stabilize peace despite the anger of the duke and felonies of the traitor of Senac. The king’s plan is to give his goddaughter, Jeanne de Beauvais, in marriage to Charles, who desires it. But Jeanne is in love with the Chevalier de Neuville …

- A film with the identical title was made on the same theme in 1924 by Raymond Bernard with Vanni Marcoux , Charles Dullin and Yvonne Sergyl . Compared to this first film, the character of Jeanne Hachette disappeared. If there is a lot of action, there is no big battle. As in the previous, many scenes were shot around and in the city of Carcassonne . Another big part of the film was shot in the Meyrueis region . Several sequences show the castle of Pierrefonds (60).
