The Gladiators ( Demetrius and the Gladiators ) is an American film directed by Delmer Daves and released in 1954 .

Synopsis

Demetrius, the freed Greek slave who served martyrdom Marcellus, is in charge of preserving the tunic of Christ handed over by the Apostle Peter . But Emperor Caligula seizes the relic and Demetrius is condemned to the arena: the games of gladiators, the troubling Messaline , the wife of Claude , the uncle of the latter, will put a strain on the mission of Demetrius to lose it or save it from the cruel fate of singular combats.
